We will always remember our teacher and mentor Prof. Takov, who tirelessly taught us civil law, comparative commercial law, banking law and legal logic, and especially that which is beyond the law, and for which it is worth working tirelessly and living — the power of morality and ethics and the freedom to seek and fight for justice.
Associate Professor of Civil Law and Professor at the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, he graduated from the German Language School, and in 1990 — from the Law Faculty at the Sofia University. From 1994 to 1995, he acquired LLM at the University of Hamburg, and three years later defended a PhD at Sofia University where he taught as an associate professor since 1992. Since 1994 he has been working as a judge in domestic and international cases at the Arbitration court in the BCCI, and in 2014 he was elected a Chairman of the Arbitration Court.
Expert in the preparation of approximation of the Bulgarian legislation with the EEC and EU directives on company law, Max-Planck Institute, Hamburg, Germany.
Expert in the elaboration of the National Program for an approximation of legislation with the EEC and EU directives (NPAA) at the Ministry of Justice and Legal Integration since 1998.
Legal Advisor to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria (2013–2017).
He was fluent in German, English, French, Russian and Latin.
He contributed greatly to the development of modern General Theory of Law, General Part of Civil Law, Contract Law, Family and Inheritance Law and Comparative Private Law.
